Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Charles “Tuna” Bae Holmes, age 48 of Maysville, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, August 19, 2017. Mr. Holmes was born in Commerce, Georgia a son of the late Arthur Holmes and Eva Mae Murphy Holmes of Maysville. Mr. Holmes was of the Baptist Faith, loved construction work and worked for Buehler Yarns.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sharon Louise Phillips Holmes of Maysville. Daughter, Heather Kay Holmes Mabry and her husband Zack of Maysville. Two brothers, Steve Holmes and Dorsey Cochran of Maysville. Two sisters, Margaret Canup Braselton, and Joyce Anderson of Toccoa. Mother in law, Katrine Phillips of Gainesville. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends, Scott and Rhonda Thomas of Homer also survive.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from the Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville, Georgia with Pastor Bill Manus and Pastor Thomas Holmes officiating. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Levi Thomas, Devin Thomas, Drew Canup, Jerald Anderson, Brian King and Wade Sims. Scott Thomas will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, August 21, 2017, 4:00 – 8:00 P.M..
