Mattie Lou Lambert

Funeral Services will be held August 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Wahoo Baptist Church for Mrs. Mattie Lou Lambert.

Visitation will be at the Church from 11:00 am to funeral hour.  Rev. Mark Stroud, Rev. Kenneth Anderson and Rev. John Dowdy will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

 Mrs. Mattie Lou Barton Lambert aged 93, died in the house in which she was born, in Murrayville, Ga. on August 19, 2017. She was the daughter of Arvin Early Barton (Hall County) and Mattie Higgins Barton (Dahlonega). After graduating from North Georgia College, she moved to Atlanta and married Joseph Buford Lambert in 1943. They had a 30 year real estate career in Atlanta and the North Georgia area. Her family have been members of Wahoo Baptist Church for five generations. She had a deep faith in God, and was devoted to her family and her church. She will be greatly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, J.B. Lambert, her parents, her brother, Arvin Barton, her sister, Elizabeth Mae Barton. She is survived by her son, Michael S. Lambert, and daughters, Carol Lambert Akcay and Mary Lambert Byers, seven grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren. The family wishes to express our appreciation to John and Jessica Dowdy, the staff at N. E. Georgia Medical Center, and hospice of N. Georgia for their kindness, care and support.
