Francis Louise Strayhorn

Mrs. Francis Louise Strayhorn, 76, of Clayton, formerly of Gainesville, passed away on August 15, 2017 due to an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Harry Barron and Reverend Thomas O’Kelly will officiate.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday August 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Atlanta, GA., on July 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Bessie Lee O’Kelly Sears. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Strayhorn is preceded in death by her husband, Ronny Strayhorn; sons, Ronny Martin, Sr., Ricky Martin; sisters, Doris Derrel, Carolyn Cornelius and Edna Castillo.

Mrs.  Strayhorn is survived by her daughters, Rachel Sweeny, Ruth Martin; sons, Charles Brown, David Brown; brother, John Henry Sears; sisters, Brenda Ann Clay, Linda Jones, Bonnie Ellis, Nellie Sears, Verdell Fowler Duffy; 6 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
