Madeleine Raymonde Verdon of Waleska, GA, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2017 at Chestnut Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cumming GA. She will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loyal friend to many.
Born August 10, 1933 in Montreal, Canada, to Paul-Emile and Raymonde (Lemeiux) Hayeur, Madeleine was the eldest child with three sisters and three brothers who all grew up in a classical music loving home. Following a traditional Catholic boarding school education emphasizing music and art, Madeleine was working as a commercial artist in Montreal when she a friend introduced her to George Verdon. They married the next year and moved to Quebec City where their son, Carl, was born in 1956. Soon after, the family moved to Los Angeles where George attended a chiropractic college. They fell in love with Southern California and settled there for the next 43 years. Madeleine enjoyed being a homemaker, and she also pursued her talent for painting and music. In 1999, they moved to the lakeside community of Lake Arrowhead in Waleska, GA, to be nearby Carl and his family.
Madeleine is survived by her husband, George O. Verdon; son, Carl P. Verdon; daughter-in-law, Sylvie L. Verdon; grandson, Julien R. Verdon; grandson, Michel J. Verdon; grandson, Daniel L. Verdon; and numerous sisters (Raymonde Hayeur, Pauline Hayeur, Louise Hayeur, and Hélène Hayeur) and brothers (Jean-Pierre Hayeur, and Robert Hayeur) who she loved and cherished.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Brendan the Navigator, 4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
