Suwanee, GA resident Joyce Hazel Birch, age 83, peacefully passed away at Northside Forsyth Hospital on Aug. 12, due to complications from an infected gall bladder. She was surrounded by her 10 children and extended family. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 12, 1934 to goodly parents, Egbert and Hazel Sainsbury, Joyce studied elementary education at the University of Utah. She was married Sept. 30, 1954 in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple to her eternal companion, Norman Bruce Birch, who passed away on Sept. 1, 2011. Joyce was beloved by all. Her thoughtful heart and concern for others came from her valiant testimony and love for following the example of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Joyce is survived by her only brother, Bert Sainsbury, of South Jordan, Utah; only sister-in-law, Wanda King, of Midvale, Utah; all ten of her children: Bradley Birch, Sheryl Marzzarella, Shelly Birch, Terri Farley, Stacey Fisher, Cindi Pickett, Angie St. Clair, Lindi Gertson, Jenie Hunter, Julie Freeman and their spouses; 38 grandchildren (grandson, Rhett Fisher, passed away in March 2014) and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Aug. 18 at 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4833 Suwanee Dam Rd., Suwanee, GA.
