Rena Adkins Shoemake

    Rena Adkins Shoemake, 86, of Cumming, GA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 13^th, 2017. Rena, also called Billy, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Shoemake, and daughter, Pam Wilson. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Linsey and Lauren, and her two great-grandchildren, Gracey and Price. She was preceded by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. She was also preceded by her first husband, JR Graves.

Rena was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved spending time with her family and having dinners with them. Cooking was Rena’s way of bringing everybody together. She stayed up-to-date on the daytime soap opera, Days of our Lives.  She also enjoyed sewing.

One of the most prominent things about Rena was her fiery and feisty attitude. She never asked or needed permission to speak her mind. She would tell you her opinion but did so with tact.

Rena was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the McDonald and Son Chapel in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15 from 5-9pm and again on Wednesday, August 16 from 10 am until service time.
