Shannon David Thompson

Shannon David Thompson, 40, of Cumming, GA passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017.     With a heavy heart heaven gained a new angel yesterday. A loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He graduated from South Forsyth High School in 1995.  For South he played football and basketball. His main joy in life was teaching his nieces and nephews to play basketball. His most recent project was his HUGE tree house especially for the kids he adored.

He is gone too soon, but his mother now has her arms wrapped around him keeping him safe. Rest in peace You will forever be remembered and missed.

He is survived by his father, Larry J. Thompson; sister, Julie A. Jones; nieces and nephews, Camen Gilbert 15, Christian Ford 14, Mikayla Hammack 9 and Josslyn Jones 5; and numerous aunt’s uncles and cousins who he loved and cherished.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookwood Baptist Church, Cumming, GA.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
