Luvern C. Rutherford

Luvern C. Rutherford, age 97, of Lilburn, GA, formerly of Buford, GA, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by husband William “Bill” Rutherford. Mrs. Rutherford is survived by her children, Jane and Norman Thomas, Lilburn, Judi Burkette, Lilburn, Jim and Bernice Rutherford, Jim Thorpe, PA; grandchildren, John and Rebecca Haslett, James and Marea Haslett, Jamie and Shawn Mahoney, Jillian Burkette; great grandchildren, Jacob Haslett, Gavin Haslett, Jayden Burkette, Ryder Burkette, Shane Mahoney, Nathaniel Mahoney, Ethan Haslett, and Emma Haslett. Mrs. Rutherford was born April 20, 1920 in  Waynesboro, PA. She had lived in the Buford area and Lilburn area for the past thirty years. Mrs. Rutherford attended Alleghany School of Nursing where she was a Registerd Nurse. Mrs. Rutherford lived in Bear Falls, PA where she helped her husband Bill Rutherford operate Cut Off Inn Truck Stop in Beaver Falls, PA for a number of years. She was a homemaker, a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church and of the Keenagers senior group.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mari Lane Brooks officiating. Interment will be at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 16, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
