John Anthony Gallucci, age 68, of Auburn, Georgia passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, August 6, 2017. He leaves behind his beloved wife Kathleen Ann (Borden) Gallucci.
He is survived by his children John Anthony Gallucci Jr., and wife Kristen of Lawrenceville, Georgia, as well as Ryan Matthew Gallucci and wife Katie of Annapolis, Maryland.
As a proud papa, he leaves behind his two princesses, Kelsey Ann Gallucci and Lily Harper Gallucci.
He also leaves behind a loving family including his brothers Joseph Gallucci and David Gallucci, his sisters Judy and husband John Bentley, and Cynthia Ventura and husband Anthony, as well as several godchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Gallucci and his brother Michael Gallucci.
John was born May 10, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army who served in South Korea and inspired his sons to follow in the tradition of military service. He graduated from West Warwick High School in West Warwick, R.I., and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. He then pursued a career as a small business owner and later as a postal employee. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2009 after 21 years as a letter carrier in his home town of West Warwick.
John was a member of American Legion Post 277 in Boca Raton, Florida where he was active in the American Legion Riders and was affectionately known by the nickname “Pirate.”
The family will be hosting a private ceremony on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, https://donatenow.heart.org, in John’s honor.
