Patricia Lee Scarborough “Pat” Grant, 79, of Gainesville, Georgia went to her heavenly home on August 5, 2017 after a valiant battle with a sudden illness. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in Jesus supported her in her struggle and brought her much peace.
Pat is survived by husband, Jerry Anderson Grant; children, Teresa Lee Link (John), Bradley Curtis Grant (Stephanie), and Tina Lee Foreman (Jody); grandchildren, Nichole Culpepper (Shane), Rachelle Hogsed (Ryan), Tanner Foreman, Emalee Foreman; great granddaughter, Sophia Culpepper; siblings, Donald Scarborough (Gail), Charles Scarborough (Linda), and Rebecca Patton (George), and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Curtis and Myra Lee (Tanner) Scarborough of Blackshear Place, Georgia and her brother, James Scarborough.
Pat was born in Gainesville, Georgia on January 11, 1938. She graduated from Truett McConnell College, Cleveland, Georgia in 1958 with an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting. She met the love of her life, Jerry, at Truett McConnell College and they married on October 1, 1960. She and her husband are members at First Baptist Church of Gainesville, Georgia where she served quietly in many ministries. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook. Pat was blessed with a loving family, and they will remember her as a caring, intuitive, and servant-hearted wife and mother who loved them all dearly.
The family extends their grateful appreciation to Dr. Ken Dixon, Dr. Andre Kallab, Dr. Chris Recknor and Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 9, 2017 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church on Green Street. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday August 8, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
