Samuel Smallwood

Mr. Samuel Smallwood, 62, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Jones, Rev. Kyle Savage and Rev. Michael Irving officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Born on February 13, 1955 in Lula, GA., he was the son of the late William and Hazel Faulkner Smallwood. He was retired from City of Gainesville Public Utilities Department. Mr. Smallwood was a member of Holly Springs Church.

Mr. Smallwood is preceded in death by his brothers, Gene and Ray Smallwood and sister, Judy Smallwood.

Mr. Smallwood is survived by his wife, Susan Smallwood of Gainesville; daughter, Melissa Smallwood of Cleveland; step daughters,  Michelle Taylor (Shane) of Gillsville, Shannon Sutton (Rodney) of Clarkesville, brother, William Smallwood of Lula; sister, Ethelene Fuller of Clermont; brother, Jimmy Smallwood of Clermont; sister, Noraene Day of Clermont and a number of other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
