Mary Louise Primel

Obituary Date: Thursday, July 27, 2017

Mary Louise Primel, age 64, a 38 year resident of Cumming, Georgia, passed away July 27th, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer.

Mary was born February 23, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Marvin and Dorothy Primel. Survivors are her two cats, Mindy and Millie, her sister, Diane Callahan, and her two nieces, Autumn Callahan and Christina Stalnaker; cousins Linda Bianconi and Anna Deluca; and best friend Lisa McBride.

Mary will be remembered as a huge, history buff, who thrived on traveling and making sure her family knew just as much as she did. One of her favorite hobbies was visiting as many of the former President’s homes and bringing along anyone in the family who didn’t know the history. She managed to visit over 20 of their homes. She also was very devoted to creating the family tree for all the family members to look back at their heritage. She managed to track down the Primel family all the way back to 1066.

Mary will be remembered as a hard worker, dedicated to excelling in her profession at AT&T. Mary began working in high school in an internship program with AT&T and then she was hired full-time by the company after she graduated. She managed to work full-time and complete a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Oglethorpe University. She was still an active employee with over 46 years of service. During her career with AT&T she had advanced to Data Processing Associate Level III in IT Services.

Along with working full-time at AT&T, Mary also kept herself busy by always helping someone in need. Whether it was a family member, or someone she didn’t know, she always showed compassion when it came to helping a person, or animal in need. She helped out at many organizations including, The Place of Forsyth County, Habitat for Humanity, and the Humane Society. Mary was most devoted to her family, and she will be cherished in all of their hearts forever.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ Redeemer Catholic Church in Dawsonville, Georgia at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday August 1, 2017. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Memory of ‘Mary Primel’ may be made to Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society, or Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
