ALEX JOSEPH PARACSI was born January 20, 1939 in Lorain, OH to parents Elizabeth Toth Paracsi and Joszef Paracsi. His death occurred on July 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents. Alex married Kathryn Walters Paracsi on December 21, 1958 and they resided in Elyria, Avon and Westlake OH until 1973 when the family relocated to Dunwoody, GA where they lived for 30 years. Alex and Kathryn have two children--Lisa Paracsi Hammer (Todd) and Alex Jon (AJ) Paracsi.
Alex was a 4-sport Varsity athlete in Ohio at Brookside High School and was graduated from Lorain High School in 1956. He also joined the USMC and USMC-R in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1963.
He operated as General Manager of The Wyatt Lincoln-Mercury dealership in West Cleveland from 1961 to 1973 when he took a similar position at an absentee-owner Ford store in Atlanta, GA. He then operated AJ’s Peachtree AMC-Jeep in Buckhead for several years. Subsequently, he joined the financial services / insurance industry and served in several management positions with Waddell-Reed, Paul Revere, and Allianz.
Alex retired in 2002, after having gone back to the auto business, selling luxury imports--BMW, Porsche, Audi, etc.
He and Kathryn moved to Cumming, GA in 2003 and lived in Vickery Lake at the time of his death. Alex loved with all his heart, his wife Kathy, children -- Lisa and A.J., and his three grandchildren -- Alex, John and Sarah Todd, and the family’s dog, Pekoe. He enjoyed his family more than any other pleasure and he awaits their future reunion. When the children were young, the whole family was very involved with the Atlanta Colt Youth Association football program. When the children attended the Marist School the whole family were avid War Eagles Boosters.
Other survivors include two sisters in FL -- Ava and Diane Paracsi, a brother David in OH and many nieces and nephews. Another sister Betty and another brother Joseph preceded him in death. The body will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held at the Vickery Lake Clubhouse on Thursday, July 27 from 7 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alex’s memory to the Humane Society of Forsyth County (HSFC) at P.O. Box 337 Cumming, GA 30028.
