Dorothy Cheeley Willis

Dorothy Cheeley Willis died on July 22nd, 2017.

Mrs. Willis was born in Buford, Gwinnett County, Georgia.  She attended GA State college for Women and Georgia State University and received an Associate’s degree.  She has been an active member of Buford First United Methodist Church all of her life.  Mrs. Willis is survived by her husband Thomas L. Willis, her son William Joseph Willis, her daughter-in-law Rochelle F. Willis, and three grandchildren - Thomas Jeffrey Willis, Emily Ann Willis and Amy Caroline Willis.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son Thomas Jeffrey Willis, her parents Joseph Elbert Cheeley and Willie Jo Westbrook Cheeley, as well as her brothers Joseph E. Cheeley Jr. and William E. Cheeley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Sondra Jones and Rev. Jim Buckman officiating. Private interment will be at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time for the service. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy had asked for donations to Buford First United Methodist Church.
