James Everett Evans, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday July 23, 2017.
Born December 16, 1941, Everett was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and was a friend to all. He retired from working in commercial construction after 45 years of service, after which he owned a construction and foundation company. He was an avid rabbit hunter and possessed a passion for his beagles. Mr. Evans was a deacon of Sweetwater Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his father, James E. “Jim Ed” Evans and a son in law, Joe Edd Allen.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lucille Kent Evans, Dawsonville; daughters, Denise Allen, Gainesville, Cindy Johnson, Dawsonville; mother, Lucille Evans, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jameson Johnson, Ashley Allen, Olivia Johnson; great grandson, Klayton Cartledge; brothers and sister in law, Eugene and Donna Evans, Fairhope, AL, David Evans, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Flowers will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
