Jack Edward Brackett, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Sunday July 23, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Jack was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was retired from the Burlington Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega after 43 years of service. Jack served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was the son of the late Ralph and Era West Brackett and he was also preceded in death by brothers, Danny Brackett, C.R. Brackett, and “Snooks” Brackett.
Jack is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat Brackett; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Janice Brackett, all of Dahlonega, GA; step-sons, Steve Simmons and Gene Simmons, both of Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Cathy Brackett, Dahlonega, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Millie Sue Neal, Bonaire, GA, Barbara Maness, Panama City Beach, FL, Sandra and Darrell Hanson, Dahlonega, GA, Shirley and Johnny Major, Dahlonega, GA; grandson, Cole Brackett, and granddaughter, Jade Odom. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Jack are scheduled for 3 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega, GA.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Monday July 24, 2017 from 4 PM until 9 PM and again on Tuesday until time of service.
