Mae Bell Cheek Payne

Mrs. Mae Bell Cheek Payne, age 87 of Andrews Road in Toccoa passed away Friday July 21, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.

Mrs. Payne was the daughter of the late Joe B. and Wilder Mae Fulbright Cheek.  She was born February 17, 1930 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived for the majority of her life.  She retired from Oxford Industries after many years of service and was a member of Gateway Community Chapel. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Payne, in 1967.

She is survived two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary and Laura Payne of Carrolton, Texas and Steve Payne of the home, and by two grandchildren, Taylor Payne and his wife Katie and Erin Payne.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Scott officiating. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jason Smith, Wesley Smith, Eddie Powers, George Powers, and Chuck McGee.  Pallbearers will please assemble at Acree-Davis by 10:30 a.m.

The family will be at the home on Andrews Road, Toccoa, and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
