Kenneth Charles Russell

Kenneth Charles Russell, age 64, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Gainesville, GA.  Ken was born on July 7, 1953 in Biloxi, MS at Kessler Airforce Base to Charles Raymond Russell and Patricia Patton Russell.  He retired from Richs/Macy’s after 29 years.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tena Russell of Gainesville, GA, his daughter Melanie (Jim) R. Betancourt, and two grandchildren Brandon and Dylan of Buford, GA, three children by marriage, Monica S. (Jorge) delValle, and two grandchildren Quinton and Hunter of Dacula, GA, Justin S. (Stephanie) Keller of Norcross, GA,  J. Travis Keller of Atlanta, GA, two brothers William H. Russell of Honey Grove, TX, Robert H. (Geana) Russell of Hemphill, TX, one sister Trish R. (Tim) Reed of Texarkana, TX and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ken was a 1971 graduate of Warren Central High School, Vicksburg, MS and a 1976 graduate of University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  Ken always enjoyed being involved and helping others in the community by volunteering with Rich’s Partners in Time organization and served on the board of directors for Rich’s Employees Credit Union.  He contributed his time with Lake Lanier Association, Lanier Crappie Anglers Club, and a member of the ROMEO Jet Ski Club in Gainesville, GA.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Gainesville Marina outdoor Pavilion, 2145 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville, GA, 30501, 770-536-2171.  Casual attire, Golf Carts provided for transport around marina. John Simpson with Lanier Christian Church will officiate.  Please join us for a BBQ meal following the service.
