Mr. Harold William Mooney, age 78 of Dawsonville, (formerly of Gainesville) passed away peacefully at his home Friday, July 21, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margie Louise, his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Pete Barrett of Gainesville; daughter, Kathy McGeehen of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Steve Blackwell of Ball Ground, GA and daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tim Wright of Flowery Branch. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Black and Clara Martin. Mr. Mooney was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Mooney Teal; father, Harold Mooney; two brothers, James Mooney and Bobby Mooney. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Mooney owned and operated Harold’s Marine Service for many years. He enjoyed Nascar and spending time with family and friends at his home away from home in Ellijay.
Visitation for Mr. Mooney will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 at Memorial Park Chapel followed by interment at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia.
