George Rufus Duffell, age 83 of Jefferson, GA passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
Born in Comer, GA on February 24, 1934, Mr. Duffell was the son of the late Horace B. and Lera Christian Duffell. He was the widower of Marie Smallwood Duffell, a retired crane operator with Mindis Recycling, of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by a son, George Russell Duffell, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include a son, Grady Duffell, Tyrone, GA; daughters, Marthalene Twilley, Jefferson, Lera Shaw, Tyrone, GA, Georgia Pruitt, Tyrone, GA, Alice Taylor, Monticello; brother, Horace Duffell, Pooler; sister, Maggie Patterson, Jefferson; 16 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
