Grady Franklin Michael

Grady Franklin Michael was born on March 16, 1924, and went to heaven on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. He was born to the late Henry Grady Michael and the late Ina Rea Goster Michael.

Grady was married to Ann Weatherly for 71 years. He modeled the love of his Savior, Jesus Christ, by leading his family with selfless service. Grady retired from The Independent Life Insurance Company where he received the Best Salesman award 12 times. In his younger years, Grady was a professional photographer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville since 1956, where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher in the youth department, and was a member of the Anglers Sunday School class. Grady was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.

Grady was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Ann Weatherly Michael of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law Sanford and Rita Michael of Helen; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Brenda Michael of Panama City Beach, Florida; granddaughter and husband April and Richard Piper; granddaughter and husband Amber and Fred McConnel; and great-grandchildren Georgia Grace, Michael, John, and Avery.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 14, 2017 in the Chapel of  The First Baptist Church of Gainesville, 751 Green Street SW, Gainesville, Georgia 30501. The Rev. Bruce Fields will be officiating. Interment will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-1:00pm on Friday, July 14, 2017 in the parlor at The First Baptist Church of Gainesville.
