Betty Jo (Young) Clark, 79, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on July 11, 2017. She was the wife of 59 years to Wayne E. Clark.
Betty Jo was born in Gainesville, GA on December 3, 1937, to the late Milton E. Young and Nezzie (Kenimer) Young. She was a proud member of the 1957 graduating class of Gainesville High School. In 1987 she retired from Southern Bell.
Betty Jo was born with a love to travel, often lovingly called "Betty Go" by her father, and was a true gypsy at heart. Throughout her life, she showed genuine kindness and compassion to anyone she met. She was a strong woman with a fierce love for life and family; and a desire to live it to the fullest. On many occasions, you could find Betty Jo and her family enjoying time around a campfire with close family and friends at "Our Place" in Blairsville, GA. In her lifetime, she made many great memories and had the pleasure of visiting many places among God's creation. She is truly a precious ruby who is loved deeply by all who knew her.
Betty Jo is survived by her husband, Wayne E. Clark; her daughter, Kimberly Dean and her husband, Brandon and step-son, Logan, of Gainesville, GA; her sister Linda Ann Shubert and husband, Frank of Gainesville, GA. She leaves behind many loved family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Phagan officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
