Willie Wendell Smith

Willie Wendell Smith, age 59, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017. 
Wendell was born in Stephens County.  He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard and he was currently employed as a truck driver with Hemphill and Son in Toccoa. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie J. Smith. 
He is survived by his mother, Emily Gibbs Smith of Mt. Airy; two sons, Jamie Smith (Alisha) of Dallas and Rance Smith (Melissa) of Macon; brother and sisters, Gene Smith of Mt. Airy, Debbie McConnell (Curtis) of Mt. Airy, Cindy King (Wesley) of Commerce, and Rebecca Holcombe of Mt. Airy; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M Sunday and 2-4:00 Monday at Hillside. 
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Monday in Hillside Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Wes King and Reverend Ralph Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow in Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery.
