Peggy Martin Nelson

Peggy Martin Nelson, age 57 of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017.

Born in Smyrna, Georgia on December 22, 1959, she was a daughter of Carol Ann Cox Martin of Clarkesville and the late Jack Martin. Mrs. Nelson retired from Fieldale Farms as an Administrative Assistant with 20 years of service. She enjoyed flowers, sports, drag racing and car shows, riding motorcycles, and music. She was a very sociable person and never met a stranger. Mrs. Nelson was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Nelson of Toccoa; daughter, Tonya Michelle Brady of Demorest; step daughter and companion, Olivia Nelson & Steven Brown of Buckhead; step daughter and son-in-law, Sara & Adam Waters of Suwanee; step son, Ryan Nelson of Fairplay, South Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa & Michael Weaver of Clarkesville; brother and companion, Steve Martin & Ritz Harkins of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Colton Brady, Landyn Brown, Lea Waters, Paige Waters and Quinn Waters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 pm, Sunday, July 9, 2017 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Dr. Charles Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Demorest City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm and 5-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
