Larry Ray Powers

Mr. Larry Ray Powers, age 55 of 199 Matheson Road in Toccoa passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his residence.

A son of the late Barbara Ann Powers, he was born October 26, 1961 in Anderson, South Carolina.  Larry began working at a very young age.  He was employed in general construction and painting for a few years and later began working in the upholstery business full time.  He was also the full time caregiver for his grandparents while working as an upholsterer. Larry was injured at the age of twenty-seven and became permanently disabled.  He loved to fish and hunt, and when he was still active, and would go hunting or fishing whenever he could find the time. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tracy Powers.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Alan Warren of Watkinsville, Georgia; son, Daniel Ray Powers of Canon, Georgia and his girlfriend, Samantha Holmes of Toccoa; grandson, Konner Warren; sister, Nikki Powers; brother,  Emory “Humpy” Powers; and the mother of his children, Lora Powers of Toccoa.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in memory of Mr. Larry Powers Friday, July 7, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Panther Creek.

The family will be at the home on Matheson Road.

Those who would like to make a memorial donation in memory of Mr. Larry Ray Powers may do so by mailing memorials to P.O. Box 130, Toccoa, Ga. 30577 in memory of Larry Powers.  Memorial proceeds will be used to help offset medical bills and other final expenses.
