Mrs. Betty Jo Stephenson, age 79, of Commerce, GA died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Stephenson was born in Homer to the late Omer Lee and Ruby Elizabeth Dailey. She was a member of Homer Baptist Church and was retired from Gold Kist. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Odell Stephenson.
Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her daughters, Donna Jones and Sherri Marsh both of Athens; brother, Terry Dailey of Danielsville; grandchildren, Rusty McDuffie of Nicholson, Josh McDuffie of Carnesville and Kyle Gillespie of Jefferson; and great-grandchildren, Carsen McDuffie, Brooks McDuffie, Scarlett McDuffie, Brayson McDuffie and Blakley Gillespie.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Monday, July 3 at Homer Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Crabbe and Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 PM.
