Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Rosemary Porter York, 89, of Clermont formerly of Cleveland. Mrs. York passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center of Braselton, Georgia. Rosemary was born in Fayetteville, AR on August 29, 1927 to the late Henry Otis Porter and Eurice Dewitt Ingram Porter. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Home Economics from the University of Arkansas.
Rosemary was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was married to Col. Dennis York from June 8th, 1948 to Dennis’ death in 2014. Rosemary was active in the Methodist and other Protestant churches.
Survivors include all four of her children: sons, Philip York of Illinois, Michael York of Minnesota, and Jeffrey York of Vermont; and daughter, Sally York of Georgia. Survivors also include her nine grandchildren: Matthew, Jocelyn, Jessica, John, Joshua, Julie, Joy, Zev and Ayla.
Funeral services are scheduled for noon on Thursday, July 6, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Keen officiating.
It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago IL 60601.
