James Thomas Frady, age 92, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the residence.
Mr. Frady was born on April 10, 1925 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Cana and Girlie Frady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Kerby; brothers, Morris Frady, and Gene Frady. Mr. Frady was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Mt. Airy Masonic Lodge #141, Mountaineer Shrine Club, and Cornelia VFW Post #7720. He was retired from Clarkesville Mill with 37 ½ years of loyal and dedicated service. Mr. Frady was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, having served his country in the South Pacific. He served in the 11th Airborne Parachute Infantry Division and was one of the first to set foot on occupied Japan. After the War he served as an instructor at the parachute school in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Frady, of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Frady, of Mt. Airy; John and Cynthia Frady, of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine and Eddie Williams, of Mt. Airy; Dorothy and Bob Hallman, of Fitzgerald; Joyce and Matthew McLeer, of Marietta; brother, Fred Frady, of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Frady, of Mt. Airy; Sandra Frady, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Clint and Emily Frady; Nick and Jaylen Frady; Audra Frady; great-grandchildren, Spencer Frady, and Reese Frady.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest, Georgia.
