Virdis Hammond Weaver

Obituary Date: Thursday, June 29, 2017

Mr. Virdis Hammond Weaver, age 79 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Warren Huddleston will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm, at the funeral home.

            Mr. Weaver was born August 20, 1937 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Ira Weaver and Jessie Dean Hanes Weaver.  He was retired from Crystal Farms and was a member of Redwine United Methodist Church.  Virdis was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Christopher Wayne Weaver and his step-daughter, Pamela Roxanne Hope.

            Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Dora B. Weaver of Gainesville, his children, Ronald (Janet) Weaver of Gainesville, Lisa Marie Palmer of Gainesville and Virdis William (Jessica) Weaver of Gainesville, his step-children, Mack Howington of Mobile, Alabama, Michelle (Phillip) Gosnell of Daphne, Alabama and Tracy (Tracy) Howington of Gainesville, grandchildren, Brian Weaver, Jennifer Weaver, Brittaney Palmer, Joshua Manning, Gabriel Weaver and Nellie Anne Weaver, 3 great-grandchildren and sister, Louise Barrett of Gainesville.
