Tony Bennett, 64 of Dawsonville formerly of Gainesville passed Sunday June 25, 2017.
Born in Gainesville, Ga. March 2, 1953, Tony had lived in Dawson County for over 40 years. He was the son of the late Cleon and Hazel Martin Bennett.
Although Tony was always up for a good time, he was a devoted husband who spent countless hours making sure his girls were the best they could be both academically and athletically. They spent many nights reading stories and playing cards. Whether it was riding his Harley with his best friend, visiting with family, sitting by the lake catching catfish, or spending an entire weekend at the softball field, Tony was always the life of the party. Whether meeting him briefly or having him in your life as a constant, Tony was someone that always made a lasting impression. He was loved immensely and will be monumentally missed by friends and family alike.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Brandon Griggs; Cheyenne and Frankie Truelove, all of Dawsonville; sister, Ronnie Carter, Ocala, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Havalyn Bennett, Gainesville. Number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lynn Farmer Bennett, and a number of aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday June 30, 2017 at the Dawsonville Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Ray Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
