Judith Virginia Moore

Judith Virginia Moore, age 70, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Judith (Judy) was the daughter of the late James Edward and Bonnell Gilbert Parks.  She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Janet Gearin and Rose Thilges.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, David Moore; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Scott Chambers, and Tina and Dewayne Wood; and grandchildren, Morgan Wood and Gunner Wood all of Dahlonega, GA.  Numerous other relatives also survive.
Judy graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1964, and received her diploma in nursing from Lanier Technical School in Clarkesville.  Her nursing career, spanning 30 years, began at North Georgia Medical Center and ended when she found her true calling, working with geriatrics, at Gold City Nursing Home.  Judy continued her love and care for the elderly through nursing home ministries until she faced her final months. 
Judy possessed a strong personal faith which found expression in every aspect of her life, and supported her through her final transition.  Judy’s commitment to her Heavenly Father, her family, and to her community is her legacy.  She was always very genuinely looking for opportunities to serve others.  Cancer lost and Grace won.

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.  Acts 20:24 KJV

Celebration of Life services for Judith are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Kris Butler and Rev. John McCrary will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM and again on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10 AM until time of service.
