Joshua Andrew "Josh" Gilleland

Joshua Andrew “Josh” Gilleland, 24, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday June 18, 2017.

Born September 18, 1992, he was a native of Forsyth County but had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years.  He was a 2011 graduate of Dawson County High School where he was a member of the Soccer Team.  Josh attended Southern Polytechnic State University and was currently enrolled at Lanier Tech in Dawsonville.  An avid fly fisherman, he loved spending time with his friends and with his dog, Yeti, and he enjoyed all outdoor activities.  A member of Hightower Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Ben Gilleland.

Surviving are his parents, Roger “Tony” and Pam Gilleland, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Matt and Molly Gilleland, Atlanta; grandparents, J. R. and Ethelene Allen, Cumming, Barbara Jean “Bobby” Gilleland, Milton; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be held Saturday June 24, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Hightower Baptist Church.  Rev. Jerry Orr and Rev. Gerral Richards will officiate.
