Thelma Satterfield Aiken, age 95, of Gainesville passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 17, 2017 due to declining health.
Mrs. Aiken was born November 27, 1921, at Cleveland, GA to the late Homer and Mintie Cain Satterfield. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Aiken, her sisters Pauline (Joe) Young and Bonnie (Clarence) Nix of Cleveland and brother Wallace (Floy) Satterfield of Gainesville.
Mrs. Aiken is survived by her daughters, Debbie Aiken, Sharon (Steve) Bodlovic; sons, Alan (Margaret) Aiken and Roger (Debbie) Aiken; grandchildren, Tammy (Mike) McCurley, Chad (Heather) Lance, Stacy (Matt) White, Alex Aiken, Andrew Aiken, Blake (Stephanie) Aiken; great grandchildren, Lance and Kate McCurley, Lucie and Jayden Lance, Anslee Bradshaw, Halie and Rabb White along with several nieces and nephews. Special love and affection for longtime friends Laurie Spiess and Loraine Davis.
Mrs. Aiken worked in retail sales and retired from Wrigley’s. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was honored by the church for her 50 years as Sunday school teacher for children in pre-school.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Earl Pirkle officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
