Beloved husband and father, Brent Davis Bennett, 59, an Atlanta native, passed away tragically June 12, 2017.
A high school all-American soccer player and graduate of Arlington High School in 1976, he attended Georgia Tech studying engineering. An avid outdoorsman and well-rounded athlete, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly-tying, soccer, rugby, and billiards.
Brent was a devoted family man and loved having fun with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Denise; daughters, Kathleen and Meredith; mother, Betty Davis Bennett; siblings Dea Wilkins, Grant Leadbetter, Selena and Mike Holcomb; and cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Bennett.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 16, 2 pm at Marietta First United Methodist Church (56 Whitlock Avenue). The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the Marietta Garden Center (505 Kennesaw Avenue).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the Altamaha Riverkeeper (altamahariverkeeper.org) or the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief & Rescue Fund (www.cbrrescue.org).
