Opal Jane Parker

Mrs. Opal Jane Parker, age 99 of Gainesville, passed away on June 11, 2017. Opal was born on January 10, 1918 to the late Mr. Manson McFalls and the late Mrs. Omie Chastain McFalls in Hiawassee, Georgia, but spent most of her life in Hall County. Opal worked at New Holland for 14 years and then worked for Chicopee Mills for 26 years as a weaver. She was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church.

Opal was preceded in death by her husband John Henry Parker and sister Ella Pennington. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nina and Bob Whitmire; grandsons Greg Whitmire and Chad (Stephanie) Whitmire; great-grandson Maximus Whitmire; sister Ada Mae Ivester; brother Lewis Pass; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Gainesville.
