James W. “Jim” McKnight

James W. “Jim” McKnight, age 86, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, June 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his son, James Timothy McKnight; and parents, Harold B. and Emily June McKnight. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Cathy Jean McKnight, Buford, GA; children, Cathy and Nick Prabhu, Woodstock, GA, Lydia Babe and Jeff Francis, Columbia, SC, Terry (Shortly) and Tracy McKnight, Colorado Springs, CO, Susan McKnight, Columbia, SC, Deanna and Vayn Angle, Acworth, GA; seven grandchildren; and three step grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, John and Linda McKnight, Destin, FL; stepson, Jason and Carrie Theriault, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. McKnight was born August 21, 1930 in White Sulphur Springs, Virginia. He was a 1947 graduate of Frankfurt High School in Germany and also attended West Point College and GA Tech in Atlanta. He was retried as the owner of Five Star Steel Company in Buford. He was an avid golfer. No formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 in memory of Jimmy McKnight.
