Mrs. Myrtis Wheeler White, age 91 of Anderson, South Carolina and formerly of Toccoa passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, South Carolina.
A daughter of the late George and Mae Smith Wheeler, she was born January 3, 1926 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Toccoa and the last four years in Anderson, South Carolina. She was retired from Coats and Clark with 47 years of service and was a member of Shiloh Baptist church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy White in 2007, by two sisters, Mary McLaughlin and Sallie Lawrence and by a brother, Claude Wheeler.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Doug Downs of Pendleton, South Carolina; granddaughter, Kelli Hastings of Anderson; great-grandson, Adison Hastings; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 12, 2017, 2 O’clock P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend John Thomas officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Mike Wilkie, Jack Barnard, Jeremy Manning, Dale Wheeler, Scott Chitwood and Jerry White.
