Rose (Bobbie) Antley Morris

Obituary Date: Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Mrs. Rose “Bobbie” Antley Morris, 85, of Gainesville, GA passed away May 31, 2017 with her loved ones by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lake Morris; parents, J.W. and Annabell Dantzler Antley; sister, Jean Antley Reed; cousin, Ray Dantzler and her adored shih tzu, Rosebud.

Graveside service is being held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Alta Vista Cemetery with David Simpson, a family member, officiating the ceremony.

Born in Orangeburg, SC, Bobbie worked as an X-ray technician.  Then later operated the family owned real estate business in Braselton with her husband, Charles Morris.  Throughout their 51 years of marriage, Charles often teasingly referred to Bobbie as his “bride.”  She was a vibrant, charismatic personality with a quick wit and great sense of humor.  Bobbie was an artist who enjoyed playing the piano as well as painting still life’s, landscapes, and her beloved dog, Rosebud.  She was a connoisseur of cuisine and loved trying new foods, recipes, and cooking for everyone.  Being well read created her appreciation of everything from classical music to politics and an ability to speak on a wide variety of topics.  Although Bobbie will be greatly missed, we are grateful for the blessing of having known and loved her.

Her memory lives on through her son, Charles “Chip” Lake Morris Jr. and daughter-in-law, Deborah H. Morris; daughter, Tracy Rose Morris; grandchildren, Allison Lake Morris, Austin Jai Peal (all of Gainesville) and Trevor Charles Morris (Atlanta); great grandchildren, Ku’uipo, Kingston, Preston, and Kayla Morris; niece, Theodora “Dori” Simpson, her husband David and their children Dylan and Kalen Simpson; nephew; Doug Reed, his wife Beth and their children Tara Greenwood, Hunter and Molly Reed; sister-in-law, Sarah Morris; and a number of nieces and nephews.

If you would like to make a memorial donation, Bobbie was fond of Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.  http://sampur.se/2s0AQaS will link to Mom’s page.
