Christine Whitlock Dyer

Christine Whitlock Dyer, age 87 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 05, 2017.

Born in Banks County, Georgia on November 9, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Steve & Bertha Barrett Whitlock. Mrs. Dyer retired from both Chicopee and Nicolon/Baycor as a weaver. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, monogramming, cooking, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Dyer was a member of Demorest Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack J. Dyer; grandsons, James Michael Dyer and Wendell Steve Dyer; brothers, Dank S. Whitlock and Buck Whitlock; sisters, Janie Dills, Lonie Glenn, Lougene Snipes, Maybell Wilbanks.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Tia Dyer of Hollywood, Wendell & Angela Dyer of Lula, Angile & Dede Dyer of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie & Leon Williams of Demorest and Susan & Mitchel Smith of Cornelia; grandchildren, Kathy Maney, Brian & Brenda Dyer, Justin (Deborah) Williams, Noah Dyer, Mark (Shannon) Dyer, Gentri (Jon) Wilbanks, Jake (Lauren) Smith; Adam (Maggie) Dyer, Tucker Dyer & fiancé Carly Jarrard; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; special nieces, Gwen Hunnicutt, Elaine Free, and Juanita Crumley; also numerous other nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, June 8, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 pm on Wednesday.
