Arthur Dwayne Casper lost his battle with lung cancer on June 3, 2017. Dwayne was born on February 23, 1949 in Monroe, GA.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Dwayne loved to ride motorcycles with his RCR Riders, travel, cook-especially grilling, and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a 1967 graduate of Winder Barrow High School. Retired from the University of Georgia, Dwayne worked as a data programmer for over thirty years. He was a member of the Atlanta Yaarab Shrine Center and of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Statham, GA. His favorite places to travel were the Amish country, anywhere in the mountains, and cruise getaways in the Caribbean. He was a long-time caregiver for his late wife, Paulina, where he went to great lengths to make sure she was comfortable, happy, and always well taken care of. He was a devoted friend to all who were close to him.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his wife, Paulina Garrison Casper; parents, Arthur Due and Alma Marzie Casper; and grandson, Watson Hugh Elzey.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Espy (Ned) and their children, Holly and Suzanne of Buford, GA and Miriam Elzey (Vince) and their children, Madison and Graham of Cumming, GA; two sisters, Brenda Savage (Wayne) and Sheryl McGaha (Tony) of Winder, GA; many other nieces, nephews, friends, and his motorcycle group, which was a second family to him.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, June 6 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Friesma and Rev. Phil Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
