Robert Clark, of Cumming, GA, left us to be with his Lord and Savior on May 25, 2017. He was born in Beacon, NY and was the son of Cyrus and Ella Clark who predeceased him.
Robert (Bob) graduated from Beacon High School, attended Univ. of Michigan for 2 years and graduated from Indiana Technical College with a BSCE in 1952. He held many positions of management in the construction of commercial buildings. He owned and operated his own construction company in both NY & OH. He also owned and operated Ice Chalet Skating Rink in Westerville, OH. He was a project manager for Marriott Inc. for 8 years working on large resort hotels. After that he worked for Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA as Director of Construction for 8 years retiring from construction in 1997.
Robert (Bob) was a member of First Redeemer Church, Cumming, GA where he was active in the hospitality ministry, Bible Study classes and also participated in There’s Hope for the Hungry food ministry where he was able to share his love for the Lord. He was a Gideon for over 25 years enjoying spreading the Word of God.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June Post Clark, four children and their spouses, Melissa McIlvaine (David), Cumming, GA; Nancy Smith (Ron), Gahanna, OH; Robert F. Clark (Lisa), Lawrenceville, GA and Brian Clark, Cumming, GA. Surviving grandchildren are Kathrine Beno Valencia (Amilcar), Lisa Beno Albright (Konrad), Deanna, Lydia, and Rebekah Smith, Brittney, Harrison, and Caroline Clark. Four great grandchildren are Madison, Emma and Ella Albright and Oscar Valencia Beno. A sister in New York, Elaine Clark Steffanci (Jack) survives him as does his niece, Pam Steffanci Wood.
