Inez Moore McGahee, age 88 of Clarkesville, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017.
Born in Habersham County on May 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Virgil James Moore and Lizzie Mae Ivester Moore. Mrs. McGahee was a retired machine operator at Piedmont Automotive and also a former cook at Hollywood Diner. She was a member of Turnerville Church of God and in her spare time enjoyed knitting, cooking, and flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles Austin McGahee; brother, Willard Moore; sisters, Fannie Moore, Lizzie Mae Moore, Ila Ivester, Nancy Tillison, and Valaree Ivester.
Surviving are sisters, Louise Ivester of Turnerville and Velma Sewell of Travelers Rest, SC; brothers, Randy Moore of Turnerville, Charlie Moore of Clarkesville, and Claude Moore of Dahlonega; special and primary caregiver, Nita Ivester; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from the Chapel of McGhaee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Austin Ivester officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Turnerville.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 am until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
