Mr. James Thomas “Tom” Owens, age 72 of Julia Lane, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at his residence.
A son of the late Elzie Hughdon Owens and Doris Evelyn Hutchcraft Owens, he was born May 14, 1945 in Gordon County, Georgia having lived a greater part of his life in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Lawrenceville, Georgia and the last seven years in Toccoa. He was a truck driver for Coca Cola for a number of years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Margaret Cooper Owens; daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Rick Moore of Alpharetta, Georgia; step-daughter, Danette Potter of Eastanollee; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017, 11 O’clock A.M in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Chaplain Tom Waggoner officiating.
The family will be at the home on Julia Lane and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M.
