Drucilla B. Collier, age 85 of Habersham County, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017.
Born in Warwick, Georgia on August 6, 1931, she was a daughter of the late A.C. and Bertha Perkins Bailey. Mrs. Collier was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Scovill Manufacturing. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Collier was affectionately known as “Granny Dru” by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Mose Collier; daughter, Jeannie Marie Carswell; great grandson, R.J. Howard; brothers Shorty Bailey, Dan Bailey, Turner Bailey, Pete Bailey, Charles Bailey; sisters, Frances Johnson, Louella Purcell, Susie Landcaster, Polly Payne, Edith Allison, and Virginia Nix.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Bill & Lisa Collier of Mt. Airy; daughters, Lisa Yearwood of Mt. Airy, Ginger Morgan of Vero Beach, Florida, and Cindy Ballew of Demorest; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; son-in-law, David Carswell of Clarkesville; sisters, Sarah Edmonds of Toccoa and Edna Waters of Arabi; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Sunday, May 28, 2017 from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Webb and Rev. Brian Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Turnerville.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
