Sanford Ray

Mr. Sanford Ray, 96, of Gainesville, died Sunday May 21, 2017 at his residence.

Sanford was the son of the late Wyatt and Flonnie Fuqua Ray.   He was a Veteran, serving in the Army.  He retired from Gainesville Machine Company as a truck driver.  He lived an interesting life, family always enjoying his stories.    

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mabelle Ray and son, Ted Ray. 

Sanford is survived by his wife, Toni Waldrop; daughter, Nancy Ray; step-son, Ray Waldrop; grandson, Jonathan Ray (Jennifer); 3 great grandchildren.  A number of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday May 25, 2017 at the chapel of Little and Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Chris Ellis will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 and Wednesday May 24, 2017.
