Mr. Edward A. Todd, 88, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Gainesville First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gary Huff and Pastor Larry Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Todd was born on July 28, 1928 in Newtown, OH to the late Alvis Todd and Rose Bonekamp Todd. He was retired from Haverhill Paperboard where he was a supervisor and he was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the Inverness Church of God.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Todd is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lillian Cisneros Todd.
Mr. Todd is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Patsy and Joe Reeves, Valdosta, GA, Sharon and Barry Woodall of Gainesville, GA; son and daughter in law, Ernest and Charlotte Todd of Inverness, FL; same as a daughter, Rose Evans of OH; grandchildren, Jason Atchison, Brittany Todd, Katie Todd, Tea` Todd, Edward Todd, III., Elizabeth Todd, Cindy Todd; same as grandchildren, Joe Wright, Carley Wright; sister, Elsie Vanwinkle.
Edward Todd was a man of God! He always said “God takes care of his people” He loved his family, his friends, and his church. He loved going to New York City, taking in shows on Broadway and attending the Macy’s Day Parade. He was known for a wicked sweet tooth, especially candy and cookies. He enjoyed Little League Baseball, traveling with the family, and reading his bible year after year and lately the Minions.
