Scott A. Grest

Scott A. Grest, age 56, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Melinda Lowe Grest, Buford, GA; children, Gabrielle Kay Grest, Buford, GA and Isabelle Nicole Grest, Buford, GA; parents, Keith and Carolyn Grest, Tucker, GA; brother, Michael Grest, Auburn, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl Grest Barton, and husband, Patrick Michael Barton, Cumming, GA; nephews, Sean Michael Grest and Elias Lowe; nieces, Jacqueline Lowe and Niamah Rahmaan. Mr. Grest was born January 27, 1961 in Washington, DC. He was a 1979 graduate of Tucker High School in Tucker, GA and a 1985 graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree. He was employed with United States Forest Service as an IT Administrator. He was a board member and coach with Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association, a member of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxilary at Lake Lanier, Flotilla 29, member of the Atlanta Pipe Band and a member of the U. S. Coast Guard Pipe Band. A viewing and visitation will be held at Flanigan Funeral Home on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. No formal funeral service is planned.
