Harold Walter Hinton, age 76, died on May 8, 2017. Born January 27, 1941 in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of the late Reginald H Hinton and Ethel Beatrice Ertzberger. Harold served in the US Navy with an honorable discharge and was a strong supporter for the men and women who served our country. Earlier in his career, he was President and Co-owner of DiMarco’s Outdoor Furniture Manufacturing Company and also had his own paint contracting firm for many years. Most recently, he worked at Walmart in Mesa, AZ.
Harold never knew a stranger. He will be remembered by friends and family as loving, thoughtful, generous, and funny - he could best be described as charismatic. He was widely recognized for his selfless support to countless individuals in need of help over the 40 years he was a part of the recovery community. He was most recognized in the Atlanta area where he leaves a strong legacy of recovery to those who had the good fortune of knowing him.
For those who knew Harold, his greatest loves were his children. Survivors include: daughters Lisa Hinton Nahal (Mike) and Kim Hinton Wade (Jack), sons Connor Harold Hinton and Kyle Joseph Hinton; granddaughter Nicole Nahal; great-granddaughter Gabriella Zayas; brother Denny Hinton (Eddie Ruth) and sister Patricia Moser Hawkins (Charles); many nieces and nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Arnold W Moser, James B Moser, and Sonya F Moser.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20th, at 4 p.m. with visitation at 3 p.m. at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Rick Statham officiating, 2580 Hwy 42 N, McDonough, GA 30253. Another memorial service will be held Sunday, May 21st, at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
