Bertram “Tony” Peaster

Obituary Date: Sunday, May 14, 2017

Bertram “Tony” Peaster, age 92, of Demorest, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Habersham Medical Center. 

Tony was born in Bristol, England to the late Bertram and Winifred Peaster.  He worked at Bristol Airplane Company and Integral and other companies in England designing aircraft engines and hydraulic pumps. 

After moving his family to the United States in 1966, he worked at Lockheed- Martin where he helped design the original C5-A, other aircraft and worked with the United States Air Force investigating military aircraft accidents- surviving two airplane crashes himself.  He lived in Marietta much of his adult life where he was a parishioner of St. Jude’s Episcopal Church. 

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Kliskey Peaster; three brothers; and two grandchildren. 

He is survived by his sons, Roger Peaster (Heidi) of Clarkesville and Kevin Peaster of Dallas; brother and sister, Phillip Peaster (Adele) and Margaret Flack, both of England; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Tony’s life will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in the parish hall of St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Marietta.  Interment was private.
