Charles A. Parks, age 78, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, LaRita Bennett Parks, Buford, GA; children, Lori Charita Parks, Buford, GA, Andy and Terri Kay Parks, Chestnut Mountain, GA, Rodney Parks, Alpharetta, GA, Joy Parks Baer, Cleveland, GA and Kevin and Fran Parks, Cleveland, GA; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Terri Cofer, Buford, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lanny and Janice Bennett, Dallas, GA; special nephew, Freddy Cofer, Flowery Branch, GA; and several cousins. Mr. Parks was born December 18, 1938 in Marietta, GA. He was a 1956 graduate of Banks County High School in Homer, GA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1960. He was retired from S.C.M. Printers in Oakwood, GA after fifteen years of service, was a former policeman in Buford, GA and a Deputy Sheriff in White County, GA. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lula, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 15, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
